Following the Government's announcement we are officially going into Alert Level 2 on Thursday 14th. This is clearly great news.
This move to Alert Level 2 means that we will be able to offer a wider range of supports, get people back into their communities and start returning to a level of normality.
For the most up to date information please visit the official COVID-19 website: covid19.govt.nz or the Ministry of Health's website health.govt.nz.
If you wish to discuss the situation, you can call our Dunedin office Monday - Friday on 0800 800 001.
Clearly we will still be at an Alert Level and we continue to focus on and prioritise people safety. To do this, we are going to operate using two overarching principles:
The practices that we use will be no more restrictive than for non-disabled people.
This is NOT a return to business as usual. This is a new operating environment with Level 2 restrictions
We continue to focus on: Infection Prevention Control, Physical Distancing Measures and Contract Tracing.
What we need to remember is COVID-19 is still out there. Play it safe.
Operating safely at Alert Level 2 involves:
• maintaining physical distancing of one metre in the workplace unless other mitigating measures are in place
• keeping your distance from people you don’t know in public (ideally two metres)
• maintaining high levels of personal hygiene and workplace cleaning
• keeping accurate contact records to enable contact tracing if required
• appropriately using the personal protective equipment as required by the guidelines
• meeting all health and safety requirements.
Our Support Centres will be back up and running as before, however under Alert Level 2 we are not encouraging people to just turn up. The doors will remain locked, however, we will have reception staff available.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us during this time, it has been a really team effort. As always I am available to answer any questions that you may have and am really interested in comments you may wish to make. My email is email@example.com
Many thanks to everyone,
Nau Mai Haere Mai Te Kaitiakitanga Tautoko Hapori
