Mike Brummitt's Report - Chief Executive
Hi Team,
Happy New Year and here’s hoping for a smoother 2021. I trust that everyone is well and had a restful and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Thank you in particular to everyone who worked over this time.
As always it doesn’t take long for the year to start back up. This year we will continue to be focusing on our five strategic points: To recognise support staff as our most valuable resource, Consolidate our diversity of services, Develop systems that work now and into the future, To set Teams up for success and To solve our housing challenges. We look forward to progressing these points together and will keep you informed. Clearly we will be doing this work whilst maintaining a vigilant eye on what is happening with the pandemic around the world and possible consequences for both New Zealand and the Community Care Trust.
Trevor Lewis (Operations Manager) has settled in and is getting to grips with the complexity of the Community Care Trust. We look forward to welcoming Frankie Gaston on the 1st February and the innovation that she will bring to the role of People & Capability Manager. With these additions and the changes that occur it can be challenging to keep up with who everyone is and what their roles are. Over the next couple of months those of us who work at the Support Centre will be writing a small piece through FlowLogic introducing ourselves and the role that we do. As always if you have any specific questions more than happy to answer.
As most of you will be aware we have been informed by the Dunedin City Council that they no longer intend to refurbish the Support Centre building as originally planned but demolish and rebuild but with no tenants. We will therefore be searching for an alternative space which will meet our needs now and into the future. I can again reassure you that we have time and support to do this in a orderly and proactive fashion.
I look forward to catching up with you all throughout the year,
Mike
