Internship Programme Updates

Posted Monday May 27, 2019

Our internship programme offers an opportunity for people to create, develop and build work skills in a supportive environment.

We look to recognise people’s strengths and identify the skills that they can improve, working alongside them to gain knowledge, confidence and general work readiness. It also provides a valuable reference and recent work history for people who haven’t had any employment opportunities before.

We offer a range of jobs that people can try. One of the most popular has been the delivery of the My Food Bag product. NZ Post Courier service has given us the opportunity to work in partnership with them by giving us a weekly delivery run. Every Sunday one of our interns and a support person, drive a courier van across Dunedin to deliver these boxes. This has really been a highlight to the internship experience for a lot of people and it has only been possible due to the continued commitment, connection and support that NZ Post and everyone at the Dunedin depot has provided – THANKYOU!

If you know someone who has employment goals but needs experience or skill development a work skills internship may be useful to get them to the next level. Our next intake will be in September via application to Community and Employment team.
