FLEXI – SUPPORT WORKERS
PERMANENT RELIEVER POSITION - DUNEDIN
- EXCITING OPPORTUNITY WHERE NO TWO DAYS ARE THE SAME
- DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE?
- DO YOU ENJOY VARIETY IN YOUR WORK?
- 5 WEEKS ANNUAL LEAVE PER YEAR
About the Role:
Flexi-Permanent/Full Time or Part Time
This permanent position is for a female supported person and is designed to cover other support workers for leave and training. If you are flexible around the days you can work, this flexi-role might be what you’re looking for.
This position has a four-week roster in place, with one weekend off per month. The employee can nominate three shifts per week that they are not available to work, one of which can be a week-end shift to be mutually agreed between the employee and the employer.
Shifts are assigned with 3 weeks’ notice but can be subject to change, so flexibility is required. This role rewards you with 5 weeks annual leave per year.
Community Care Trust (CCT) supports a diverse range of people with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, youth, mental health, dual diagnosis, and people with a disability that have committed a criminal offence.
While having experience as a support worker in mental health, youth, or behaviour support is advantageous, don’t let limited experience put you off applying.
Life experience and the right attitude is most important to us. We will provide comprehensive training and support to get you up to speed, and if you complete a level 4 qualification you can earn $28.25 per hour.
What might a typical day look like, you ask? It depends on the person that you work with, but it could include helping them develop their confidence to get out into the community, achieve their goals, helping them with daily living tasks such as cooking and showering, or just being there to talk to and to foster positive social interactions.
About CCT:
CCT is a longstanding organisation with our roots in Otago and Southland. We have expanded our service to now cover, North Otago, Canterbury and most recently Nelson.
CCT has a reputation for ‘walking the talk.’ We have been providing support for a long time, but always bring a fresh and innovative approach to all that we do! We are a people-focused organisation, and bring a forward-thinking, collaborative approach with a strong desire to make a difference.
Our organisation has a strong commitment to safeguarding children and any employees will be vetted to a level appropriate to the role for which they have applied.
What You need to know:
To work for CCT you must:
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one within 8 weeks of employment)
- Hold a full current NZ Driver Licence
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand or have a valid work visa with a minimum of 12 months until expiry.
We can fill you in about what makes us unique at an interview or let us know if you have any questions by contacting one of the People and Capability team at recruit@cct.org.nz or call 0800 800 001 and ask for David or Sandy.
