Support Workers - Christchurch
Permanent Relievers Full Time – These are permanent full-time positions designed to cover other support workers for leave and training. If you are flexible around the days and you can work, this role may suit you.
Shifts are assigned with 3 weeks’ notice but can be subject to change. Your workings days rotate on a 4-week roster, with one weekend off every four weeks.
Our work is varied, as we partner with a range of people including those with an intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, youth, dual diagnosis, and people with a disability that have committed a criminal offence.
While having experience as a support worker in mental health, youth, or behaviour support is advantageous, don’t let limited experience put you off applying.
Experience in being a human, and the right attitude, is most important to us. We will provide comprehensive training and support to get you up to speed, and if you complete a level 4 qualification you can earn up to $28.25 per hour.
Preferred applicants will enjoy variety and ideally have previous experience as a support worker. Rosters are set in advance, with some flexibility required. 5 weeks annual leave and a bonus of $250 payable after 3 months in the job.
What might a typical day look like, you ask? It depends on the person that you work with, but it could include helping them develop the confidence to get out into the community, helping them with daily living tasks such as cooking and showering, or just being there to talk to and to foster positive social interactions.
We are currently mostly requiring new staff for our male only services, however there is also a position for reliver that suits both male and female applicants.
CCT is a longstanding organisation with our roots in Otago and Southland (and recently expanded into Canterbury), and a reputation for ‘walking the talk.’ We have been providing support for a long time, but always bring a fresh and innovative approach to all that we do! We are a people-focused organisation, and bring a forward-thinking, collaborative approach with a strong desire to make a difference.
We can fill you in about what makes us unique at an interview or let us know if you have any questions by contacting one of the People and Capability team at recruit@cct.org.nz or call 0800 800 001 and ask for David or Frankie.
If this position isn't for you, but you know of friends and/or whanau who you think would love to work for us, then please pass this advertisement onto them.
