We are delighted to be seeking a full-time Behaviour Specialist to join our team based in Christchurch.

This is a full-time, salaried position, with usual hours of work being Tuesday-Saturday 8.30am - 5.00pm.  Occasionally, on-call work is required outside of these hours, so a degree of flexibility is required.

A key factor to your success will be the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with people we support, family/whānau, our teams and with external stakeholders.  

You will be a welcome addition to our team if you have:

  • Experience working in disability or mental health service
  • Knowledge of the IDCC&R act, and experience working with Care Recipients would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) including Non-Aversive practice
  • Committed to the principles of Enabling Good Lives
  • A proactive and person-centered approach to supporting people with a disability
  • Experience in the application of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
  • Proficiency in report writing and using Microsoft Office

We would prefer you have:

  • Previous experience in a behaviour support service or similar
  • Tertiary qualification with a degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, (other relevant disciplines may be considered)
