Wayne has lived and worked in Dunedin in both the building industry and the disability sector for 35 years and recently completed a diploma in Business Management. Wayne is always on the lookout for new and different business opportunities for CCT and people supported.
Wayne is actively involved in a number of community networks and is a member of the South Dunedin Business Association, South Dunedin Voice, South Dunedin Festival Committee and sits on the NZDSN Employment Advisory Committee. Not a day goes by that Wayne doesn’t reflect on how this all started - supporting three men to live on a rural property, doing the things in life most people take for granted, including their hobbies and interests, white baiting, tramping, and working on the land with animals.
For Wayne this was a perfect job match and kept him grounded to see these men going about their life with less support and living more independently. When not at work Wayne is most likely to be found in old work boots on his countryside property, relaxing on the veranda with a cuppa after a day on the land watching the sun go down and admiring the view of the Maungatuas which dominate the skyline of the Taieri Plains.
